Hey! Welcome to my Blog!
I’m a 20-something year old from the UK who just can’t seem to make up his mind about what he wants to do.. I’ve tried my hand at retail work, photography, web design, drawing, tattooing, care homes and online marketing…the list goes on! Don’t get me wrong, I liked them all, but there’s only one thing I truly love – travel.
Back in 2009 I made the decision to break away from my usual routine and see a bit of the world before I became too old. I had a friend who was living in Australia that had a spare room in his house and needed somebody to fill it. After a few emails back and forth, I packed my things and finally left the UK on June 29th 2010. Before I left the UK a lot of my friends and family asked me if I would keep in regular contact with them. I knew for a fact it would be difficult simply because of the time difference between the UK and Australia. The genius that I am, I set up my first blog “Dan in Australia”.
I’d never blogged before in my life. The posts were fairly uninspiring, the consistency wasn’t that great and to be fair the blog itself was pretty rubbish. To be honest, I didn’t really care. The blog was intended for my friends and family back at home and nobody else. After a few months of blogging I really started to get in to it. I was having the time of my life in Australia and I was enjoying writing about it. I ventured in to the world of Twitter and quickly became a follower of the many travel bloggers that I now call my Travel Heroes.Delving deeper and deeper in to the Travel Blogger world I became more and more obsessed with my blog. I started planning trips to places I wanted to go, things I wanted to see and activities I wanted to do. Eventually the travel bug took over me completely and urged me to just go… so I did! I ended my job in Australia and traveled. I went out in to the world to find as many adventures as I could. With me leaving Australia I tried to carry on the blog but it became too confusing with the name… and so Adventures With Dan was born!
Since leaving the UK I’ve become a completely different person. Wherever I go I’m now looking for an adventure… so come, join me on my RTW Adventure! It’s going to be one hell of a ride!
