Charleville: Day 2

Charleville: Day 2

The second day of being here was pretty awesome. Tom and I went out to try and find some more kangaroos but ended up taking a bit of a detour. We found an off-road track so we put the Pajero in to 4×4 mode and went for it.

The track was pure red dirt and surrounded by trees where you just knew you were in the outback. The odd kangaroo would skip alongside us but we didn’t stop to get pictures of them. We reached the end of the track so decided to get some pictures of the 4×4 in its natural habitat – they turned out pretty awesome!

We spent about 2-3 hours on the dirt tracks then came back to the house. Tom went out for a drive after that and I took the dog for a walk around the town. Once we were all back at the house it was time for dinner again and then after that Tom and I went back out to take some more star scapes.

With these star scapes we went to a water hole around 20km away. We got quite a few good shots of the night sky again and then decided to go to the other side of the water hole. On the other side we found a very large dead pig that was obviously fresh. It was in the wrong position to have been hit by a car and from power of deduction and the fact there were big claw marks on the ground we guessed it had been killed by something else.

We moved to a different spot to get some more photos but after a few we started to hear noises around us. There were more claw marks on the ground and the noises started to get louder and closer to us so we got in the car and went back home.
