The Lake District is a fantastic place for an adventurous holiday. Forget rambling around Lakes and taking scenic drives through the undulating landscape, the Lake District is a place for real adventure freaks! With so much to do you won’t want to leave!
Give skydiving a go in the Lake District
The Lake District is an incredible place to try a skydive. The amazing scenery has meant that skydiving centres have sprung up all over the Lake District and more and more people are taking the opportunity to observe the lakes from this stunning, bird’s eye view. From the skies of the Lake District you can see the rolling carpet of green mountains with lush green forests, glistening lakes as well as right out to the coast. A skydive in the Lake District on a clear day is a one of the best ways to see the dazzling national park in all of its glory.
As well as the views, you also have the actual skydive to enjoy. There really is no feeling like free falling through the air for the best part of a minute before the parachute opens and the speed of the journey back to land slows down. A definite thing to do before you die! Visit Skydiving North West for more information about skydiving in the Lake District.
How about mountain biking?
The hills and forests of the Lake District mean that it is a great place for mountain bikers. From experienced riders to relative novices, the Lake District has mountain biking opportunities for everyone. As well as mountain biking tracks and trails, there are plenty of places to hire bikes and biking gear like Grizedale Mountain Bikes.
Grizedale Forest is one of the best mountain biking places in the lakes, with a huge variety of routes to choose from, from short and gentle family trails, to the thrilling 16km North Face route. The thrilling curves and burms as well as leg burning uphill sections and exhilarating downhill sections are sure to put even the most seasoned of riders to the test!
No better place for water sports
The stunning Cumbrian lakes are a great place to have a go at a water sport that you haven’t tried before. From the water sports base at Low Wood on Windermere, you can have a go at a variety of water sports like waterskiing, wakeboarding and canoeing. I really don’t think anything could be better than whizzing across the surface of the water, surrounded by the spectacular backdrop of the Lake District.
After an action packed day of activity in the Lake District, retreat to your cosy holiday accommodation. There are loads of options to choose from in the Lake District including charming guest houses and quaint holiday cottages, like those from Sykes Cottages. Light the log fire; sit back with a glass of wine and a delicious plate of Cumberland sausage and mash. What could be better!

I like cycling, but i dont think i can do mountain biking, but if there is a magnificent view at the top of the hill, why not:)
How do you find the difficulty level in cycling up?

Sounds like you had a great time. Did you by any chance get any of the prices on skydiving there. I assume the first few times you have to go with an instructor, but do they have certifications there as well?
Thanks,
Ryan

Not sure of the prices I’m sorry. I think they vary on which you want to do.
