What’s upcoming for Dan?

As you may have noticed things have been a little quiet recently. My excuse (and it’s a good excuse) is because I’m still healing. My cast may have come off but the arm is still unbelievably weak so I haven’t wanted to do anything too crazy just yet.

Now the arm is feeling a bit better I’ve got quite a lot of exciting things planned. One major update to my equipment list is my brand new GoPro HD Hero2. I kept getting asked exactly how I broke the arm in all of the gory details but the actual accident was a bit of a blur which then gave me the idea of getting a camera to record my next accident – genius!

Another excuse is because the local weather has been pretty shitty recently so trips out to the places around wouldn’t have been the most exciting. Taking the heavy rain in to consideration I’ve booked myself in to a White Water Tubing activity. Basically I’m going white water rafting in a rubber ring… my family say I’m determined to kill myself. My thinking was if I’m going to get wet then I may as well have fun while doing it.

Something else that’s been taking up my time recently is an addition to my qualifications list. I’m now half of the way through my scuba diving course which will make me a fully qualified ocean diver when I’m finished.

To top it all off I’m still in the ‘saving money’ part of my travels. Next December (2013) is when I plan on fulfilling one of my ultimate travel dreams of going to Antarctica. I know that trip isn’t cheap so I’m trying to balance my money between adventures now and that epic adventure next year.

Smaller adventures on my list for this year are a trip to Rome and hopefully a skiing holiday with some friends.  Obviously I’ll be doing smaller trip closer to home over the weekends too. But for now that’s what you can look forward to over the next couple of months.
